Spend your Sunday afternoon in the quiet comfort of the Sky Mirror Gallery Cafe and enjoy a quiet drink and a bite to eat and soak in the astronomy themed images in the gallery whilst listening to Professor Fred Watson & Stephi Bernard discuss the world of astronomy & astrophysics.

Before heading out to Lake Tyrell to enjoy the night skies why not head on down to The Royal Hotel Sea Lake for an up close and personal Q&A with 5 astrophysicists and astronomers who will answer all your questions on all things science and astronomy. All while enjoying a fully catered 2 course meal provided by The Royal Hotel Sea Lake.

ASV astrophotography Section Director Tom Fowler takes you on a journey of photography discovery. In this session Tom will show you how to take those stunning images of sunset at Lake Tyrrell.

The Astronomical Society of Victoria will host a night under the stars at one of Victorias most stunning natural wonders. Lake Tyrrell is a shallow, salt-crusted depression in the Mallee district of north-west Victoria, in Australia. The name 'Tyrrell' is derived from the local Wergaia word for 'sky'. It is a renowned location for photographers and the perfect location to observe the wonders of the universe.

The ASV will have volunteers on hand with telescopes set up for attendees to view through. You will see planets, nebula, star clusters and galaxies galore!

Please note the event will be confirmed as proceeding via email 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time.

Ever wanted to learn how to take photos of Lake Tyrrell? Want to get that perfect nightscape, or simply like to learn from the experts? Then this boutique astrophotography session is for you. Meeting at the Lake Tyrrell Viewing Platform (Upper Car Park), you will be bussed down to a secluded location at Lake Tyrrell for an imaging night under the stars.

When: Saturday, November 3rd. 10pm until late

Where: Meet at Lake Tyrrell Viewing (9:30pm) - Shuttle bus will drop you to the lower car park where our hosts will take you on a private imaging session.

Cost: $150 P/p + Booking Fee (Maximum 20 tickets)
