Spend your Sunday afternoon in the quiet comfort of the Sky Mirror Gallery Cafe and enjoy a quiet drink and a bite to eat and soak in the astronomy themed images in the gallery whilst listening to Professor Fred Watson & Stephi Bernard

discuss the world of astronomy & astrophysics.

Q & A Panel Dinner

The Astronomical Society of Victoria invites you to our Astro Fest Q&A Dinner event. Before heading out to Lake Tyrell to enjoy the night skies why not head on down to The Juke for an up close and personal Q&A with 4 astrophysicists and astronomers who will answer all your questions on all things science and astronomy. All while enjoying a fully catered 3 course meal provided by The Juke.

Sunset Imaging - Lake Tyrrell


ASV astrophotography Section Director Tom Fowler takes you on a journey of photography discovery. In this session Tom will show you how to take those stunning images of sunset at Lake Tyrrell.


When: Sunday November 5th - 7:00pm start.

Where: Meet at Sea Lake Information Centre at 6:30pm - 65 Horace Street, Sea Lake 3533 (Calder Hwy)

Public Viewing Night - Lake Tyrrell

The Astronomical Society of Victoria will host a night under the stars at one of Victorias most stunning natural wonders. The name 'Tyrrell' is derived from the local Wergaia word for 'sky'. The ASV will have volunteers on hand with telescopes set up for attendees to view through. You will see planets, nebula, star clusters and galaxies galore!

 When: Sunday November 5th 9pm

Where: Lake Tyrrell Viewing Platform

Entry Cost: Adult - $15

Child (Under 16) - $5 (Children under 5 are free)



Lake Tyrrell Astrophotography Tour

Looking to see parts of Lake Tyrrell others can't? Want to get that perfect nightscape image of Lake Tyrrell, or simply like to learn from the experts in a private location and group of 10? Then this boutique astrophotography session is for you. Meeting at the Sea Lake Information Hub, you will be bussed out to a secluded private location at Lake Tyrrell for an imaging night under the stars.

When: Sunday, November 5th. 10pm until late

Where: Meet at Sea Lake Information Centre at 9:30pm - 65 Horace Street, Sea Lake 3533 (Calder Hwy)

Cost: $150 P/p (Maximum 10 tickets)
