Sea Lake AstroFest 2025

A Celebration of the Night Sky!

The Astronomical Society of Victoria is excited to announce the return of Sea Lake AstroFest for 2025! Held over the AFL Grand Final Long Weekend, this one-of-a-kind festival brings a weekend of stargazing, science, and astrophotography to the stunning dark skies near Lake Tyrrell in north-western Victoria.

Across the weekend, you'll enjoy a packed program of astronomy activities, engaging talks, and hands-on experiences led by ASV volunteers. Safely observe the Sun through specialised solar telescopes during the day, then explore the night sky through our large telescopes after dark.

Day and night telescope viewing sessions

Astrophotography training sessions (sunset imaging and night-sky imaging at Lake Tyrrell)
